Milani Purple Gleam. One of the five glitters from the Rockstar Heavy Glitter collex which I got for my birthday from my beloved Ling Ling the Fluffly! I never noticed that it was a purple AND black glitter :O I loved how it looked on my nails. Milani advertises that it’s a one coater, and I can see how it can be but for me there were one or two gaps so I just did a second coat. Boy was this a thirsty glitter. I waited until the two coats were mostly dry before adding two coats of top coat afterwards. I didn’t mind though, it was worth it :)
Since I’m too cheap to buy a real Candy Shop by Deborah Lippmann, I mixed my own! I was inspired by Rebecca when she posted about doing the same thing in a Facebook group I am in.
Formula:
Milani - Gems base (the bottle on the right)
China Glaze - White On White
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Twisted Pink
A few drops of some various Lippmann pinks that my sister is lending meIf you plan to recreate this, start with the Twisted Pink and add small amounts of White on White until it reaches your desired lightness. The Lippmann pinks are probably unnecessary - I just happened to have those and started with them.
This is for Anon who asked for the Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday & Milani Gems comparison. On my index & ring finger is Deborah Lippmann. On my middle & pinky finger is Milani Gems. The base color is a gorgeous gold chrome color called PEARLG by Oops! Jealous, which was a gift from my good friend Vicky.
But just looking at it…it’s a total dupe, right?
Milani HD Polish in 3D (3 coats)
Kind of holographic, large particles. Looks pretty in the sun, wore quite well.
